Well, I'm on vacation in SF. It's so beautiful here I had to share some pics.

From a random viewing spot by the highway.

Same place, different angle.

Underexposed, I'll fix it in RAW viewer or whatever (and who says you can't shoot the sun?)

Alcatraz! Whoa...

I love shooting in SF. I've got tons of black and white stuff, maybe I should scan and post it.

You need to bring your Boston Butt up to Napa -- let me know if you're coming.

born and raised in cali, live in the san jose area for 4 years, have been SF many times and have never been to Alcatraz. Pathetic, I know. I think i'll trek up there and finally go.

SF is an urban paradise for camera's and video camera's, so much to capture.

Standard story, man. Spent years in Seattle and never went up in the Needle.

I lived in the bay area all my life, and just this year I finally went to Angel Island and to Nabaum Coppola Winery. Both times, I had the DVXA in hand shooting away. . .didn't get the star reaction I thought I would, (LOL), but hey. Not surprisingly, Francis or Sophia weren't at the winery. Maybe next time (yeah, right).

The scenery is beautiful in both, and you always wish you had more tapes/film/cards to get it all.

you think you're experiences are bad! I lived in California all my life and I've never set foot on snow before. Better yet, I only live like an hour n half from the nearest snow resort! I guess us Asian people don't like snow.

Just got back yesterday--pretty crazy trip. Anyhow, it's very much the same for me: I live in Boston and I've never gotten around to visiting most of the tourist attractions here, and I didn't much enjoy going to those that I've been to. Alcatraz was pretty cool, though. Definitely some pretty dramatic views, plus I'd just seen the movie The Rock which was reason enough to go.

The city is really awesome, though, and the weather is a nice change from New England. Here it's basically either too warm, or too cold, sometimes both within the same few hours. I do love the snow in Boston, though, and I wouldn't like having to travel far to find it (an hour and a half isn't bad though and it's probably better snow anyhow). Even though my first few experiences skiing ended in relative disaster, it's now one of my favorite things. Definitely worth trying at least once, although it's usually not so much fun the first time....

One of my friends is Chinese and he loves to ski. Go figure. He can also bench press like 350 pounds and everyone thinks he's really German but in disguise for some reason. Sort of. Speaking of which, Chinatown was amazing, but the food there was weird. I'll never forget the taste of durian (single weirdest fruit ever invented.)
