Hey Guys and Gals,

This is my first time posting in these forums (which are awesome by the way). Some of the stuff you people are capable of is just AMAZING! My question about After Effects is if there is a way to achieve the effect seen in the photograph below (which I got from someone's avatar here). Any help that you guys can give me is MUCH appreciated!

That looks like it was all done in lighting. No front light, rim/edge light for nose and fore head, lit up solid colored background.

You can increase contrast in AE and colorize but you could also do that in most editign software.

What I really want to try and replicate is the 'look' of the still. By that I mainly mean the colorizing and whatnot.

Get 2 lites. Put a colored filter on one and aim it at a white foamcard/sheet.
Take the other light, filter it and put it somewhere behind your subject so you can graze the subject wit the light.
You best bet is to pick u pa book on basic lighting.
