i know we didn't buy this camcorder to shoot in this mode, but i can't seem to export 60i footage without jittery footage. maybe i'm interpreting the footage wrong or something. i've tried every option under the interpreting "main" menu, test rendered a scene and played it on my tv. there's always jittering when there's movement. any help would be useful.

I am not sure what you mean by jittery footage. At first glance it sounds like you are hand holding the camera and it is you who is causing the jittery footage problem. Other than that I can't think of what the problem would be without seeing actual footage. Could you post a clip here for us to view?

Keep everything in lower field mode through your pipeline and see if that helps.
