Have you guys heard about this movie with Courteney cox, that was shoot on the Dvx? If so, does anyone have info on if they used a mini 35, and their choice on lense selection? Roger and Roeper gave it two thumbs up!!

AFAIK, no 35 mm adapters or anamorphic - just a big mattebox (to impress the actors who are used to bigger cameras) and a follow focus.

damn--and just that alone reeled in a hollywood celeb?----maybe the script
"power" factor IS just/and only the major portion of production/distribution/recognition process!!!

No, you'd have to read InDigEnt's business philosophy to see why a celeb would work on those pics. InDigEnt's made a bunch of films, they have quite an established track record, and they have a different business model. First, they all have modest but workable budgets -- I think $250k or $300k. Second, there's major profit-sharing for everyone involved. Third, the films actually get distributed, unlike 99.9999999% of small pics. So there is incentive for someone, especially a primarily-TV star, to take on a lead role in a film that will be a) decently crafted (remember it won the "best cinematography" award at Sundance) and b) seen.
