Hey guys, can I get some opinions on this monitor:

Panasonic BT-L2150:

Seems like a great deal for a production monitor, just curious as to why its pretty cheap... any feedback would be appreciated!

The monitor will mainly be used as reference/color grading

Maybe someone more skilled will chime in about that monitor, but here's what I did:
Bought the matrox mx02 mini Max for about $500 which allows color/gamma/luma/etc calibration using a consumer HDTV. So I then bought a $200 22" samsung tv with 1:1 pixel mapping "screen fit" mode and now that's what I use. In addition to output preview of the NLE, the mini Max also gives you live preview using Photoshop and 3ds max as well as other programs and accelerates export rendering of h.264 videos.
I've found it to be an affordable option for color work.

I've used it a bunch. Not sure what it is exactly, but I've never been that happy with the image. I wonder if it's a 6-bit panel...

Used it as well along with their higher price 17" models. Not quite as "true" as the slightly beefier 17". Seems more like a high end computer monitor than a production monitor - more magenta and funnier contrast. I'm sure it's a decent choice for the price, but there are better options out there.

Yes something's funny about the contrast

Thanks for the input guys, can I confirm that this will be a better reference monitor then trusting the viewer on the Apple Cinema Display (Premiere CS6)

If you can calibrate it
