Optex in the UK are getting stock "next week," hopefully by Wednesday.
Anyone else hoping to see a production model before that?

Are you in the Uk too mezelf27?
Where are you getting yours from because I haven't ordered yet and am looking for the best prices?

I'm from Belgium, actually. I have ordered about 3 or four weeks ago now, and last week JVC Belgium had confirmed "the last week of July" as delivery date...
Even the price wasn't that bad. But it's not really cheaper than some of the UK's best deals on pro gear...

mmm, did you check Libra Professional Broadcast? They have the best price I could find (3.120£ exc. VAT for the HD101), and they Immediately reply to my e-mails...

Well, that is a very, very sharp price, I must say. But a few hundreds of euro's of paying extra isn't that bad, if you can get it in your own country and not in a web-shop (with the right outlets, the right warranty and undoubtetly an easier service)

Mezelf, JVC has no name in the pro Market here in Portugal, there is no JVC Portugal. I don't even know where to search for it and, comparing to Sony prices it would be abusive. For exemple, the Z1 costs about 5500€ plus 21% VAT...
Another advantage is that I won't pay VAT when buying in a foreign country, I'd have to pay it here and wouldn't receive it back because I don't have my company yet. I'll save about 2000€ in this camera, my problem is what happens if I'll need technical assistence... I'll propblably send it to Spain. Anyway, UK has a large and experienced pro market. Many guys I know bought their Sony equipment there and had no problems at all... I hope to have the same luck, it's a risk I have to take.

Well, true. But are you sure you don't have to pay any VAT? You don't need to pay it in the UK, because you're no UK-customer, but when you buy there I believe you have to pay in Portugal then.
I'm not sure. Perhaps no-one cares and it would go unnoticed, or perhaps it isn't even necessary?

No, I don't have to pay because it's within the European Union and I'm using a valid VAT number from a friend's company. You have to be or to have a company to do that. If in the future you'll need anything from outside Belgium but within the EU don't worry about paying VAT. I don't know if it works with all contries, it works at least with UK and France... Anyway, if I would pay VAT in UK, as a company I could receive it back here in Portugal. I'm not expert in this matter but it's more or less like this.
