Fwd,Rwd,Playback...Options for DVX

Understand Im close to $4000 on camera not including software and PC's so I dont think I want to use it as a [playback device. What is my least expensive options.

Cheap mini Dv camera( Is there any loss on conversion via Firewire???)
...I heard about playback decks. Whats my least expensive option for one?
Is it portable enough for On field loacation to show friends and clients...'

oh did I mention I have over 6 hours of data on mini Dv to tranfer...Im sure thats wear and tear on the DVX100a's deck. Anyone know about how man hours you get out of the DVX player[tranfer,rwd,fwd]....im afraid to use it know I cant replace it no time soon....

No loss of image/sound quality even transfering via a cheap camera/deck...some cameras don't handle the timecode well, though.

There are probably a zillion other posts in here about this...more details in them. (Along with suggestions about whihc cmaera to use/not use. Me, I use a Panasonic DV203 and have no problems.)

Actually, I didn't notice which forum we were in. :) In the Hardware forum, there are a bunch. A search for "cheap deck" or "capturing camera" will bring up some...
