this is from an afternoon of shooting. not extremely polished and some compression issues but worth a look i guess:

Having lived in NY for 10 years myself, I can certainly appreciate the beauty of the city through some of these shots.

Overall I really liked the vibe but I felt like the editing got a little sloppy about halfway through. Maybe it was because the handheld shakiness became a little more pronounced.

The receding lampost shot was really nice and I liked what you did with the "ghostly" traffic.

Nice job.

very cool, i like the mood. The handheld stuff was nice, too many cats are hating on the handheld.

Peace.

The music was hauntingly peaceful...fit the piece very well. I had playback issues showing a lot of interlacing and everything was *pink*? Could be me. And totally dig the cars coming over the bridge. Nice.

I'm not at all against handheld shots, my comments were my observation of consistency in the piece as a whole.

Man, that lamp post shot was awesome. I actually liked the handheld shots. Handheld has a real gritty, realistic quality, and always looks great when showcasing a big ass city. ;)

I wish I had a place like that to shoot. Damn suburbs!

thanks a lot people. :D
the colors are on purpose, but the strange horizontal lines are not. not sure what is going on there.
also, the green line on the left part of the first shot with the chrysler building bothers me. there's no reason it should be there. also, the black line the dvx makes on the right part of the screen is really annoying, especially when looking at a quicktime.

good stuff man. I really enjoyed the slightly reddish colors and the wonderful soundtrack of insane icelandians. By the way, I hate you for living anywhere near NY, but no hard feelings. ;D

the green line on the side of the first shot isn't just on the left side. it almost looks like an analog shift in the channels on the whole frame, like on an old tv. thought you did that on purpose. ;)

if you figure out what caused it, let us know. :D

*changed the link above because of exceeded bandwidth.

Sigur Ros is great on a limited basis, otherwise it's out with the razorblades!
