Hello,
I was wondering if there are any programs/plugins for PC that will accomplish the same (or very close to) things that Apple's "Shake 4" does?
Will AE do the same or ?
Also, how does one go about creating a slo mo / fast motion once in post? Sorry for such elementary questions but I'm a newby so please bear with me.
Thanks in advance.

I'd say the closest in the way it works would be Discreet Combustion 4.
You can surely achieve same things with AE, but I'd say you wouldn't get there as fast as with Shake, that's my personal opinion.
But then, why not use Shake 4 on linux?

Shake is great, but very specialist. For most "normal" compositing, AE or Combustion will do just as well, and in some cases easier and usually a lot cheaper.

You're probably fine with AE.
If you want to do slow mo then all effects programs can do frame blending but getting a plugin (such as Twixtor?) than does interpolation of images will provide the best quality.

Late post, sorry, but if its the nodal workflow of Shake that you're after on PC you could do worse than try Digital Fusion. Its a fantastic package. Plus I'm sure there are some older copies of Shake 2.5 for PC floating around.
