Hey guys,
I shot a TON of footage on tour with a band, without any idea of how I'm going to handle it... maybe you can help me. It's a pretty even split of footage from Canon t2i, Panasonic HMC 150, and the GroPro HD Hero (1st gen)... I'm editing in FCP 7.

Not sure what the best way to handle this is, but here's what I'm looking at:
t2i: 1920 x 1080, @ 23.98 fps
HMC 150: 1280 x 720, @ 23.98 fps
GoPro: 1920 x 1080, @ 29.97 fps

So, my main issue is that HMC is 720p and everything else is 1080p... and GoPro is 29.97 fps while everything else is 23.98 fps...
QUESTION #1: I'm assuming I should do this all in ProRes 422 (HQ) at 1080p 23.98 fps?

I already logged and transferred all the HMC footage... but then I encountered another problem: when I compressed the GoPro footage (in compressor) to Pro Res 422 (HQ) the files still required a render when I put them in the sequence. QUESTION #2: Why is that? QUESTION #3: And why is the data rate so high? GoPro Data Rate is around 26 MB/s vs. HMC's which is around 10 MB/s.

Thanks so much!

LogGOP encoding used by H.264 creates a much smaller file with good picture quality, but not as efficient for editing as I frame based encoding as you find with ProRes, DNxHD, etc. But the data rates are higher to ensure the quality.
