request-few grabs from DVX100a 16x9 vs. letterbox

I am trying to get a feel for how much softness there would be in a DVX100A stretch mode 16x9 vs the letterbox. I currently have access to test a DVX100 (non A) as a second camera to intercut with my XL2. So far I have filmed letterbox and then cropped and stretched in Vegas to get an approximation of what the 100A stretch mode is like. there is indeed a slight softening of the image compared to letterbox. I have also usede a demo of the photo-zoom software and this works well but is far too time consuming for my workflow.

I was told that resizing in Vegas would give me a good approximation of the DVX100A squeeze mode but I am still not confident of wether the difference in sharpness between the 16x9 of Xl2 and DVX100A will be too much.

Could someone shoot a few seconds on a DVX100A in 16x9 stretch (squeeze) mode and then the same exact shot in letterbox mode? Then either upload some uncompressed tiff files or even a few seconds of native dv .avi or quicktime so I can see the difference?
