Sometimes my audio transition makes a static noise. This happens with both constant gain and constant power transitions.

Anyone else have this problem? What could be causing this to happen?

I've heard this also. I'm not sure if it is present in the rendered output though.

It is in my videos. The static noise does not show up in every transition but enough when it does it is very obvious.

The crackling happens when your audio level goes over 0dB. You won't hear it in premiere, but you'll hear it when you export to a DVD. Check your audio levels in the audio monitor window. If it's too high, just bring it down or use a clipping filter or compression, etc.

It also happens sometimes when you have several filters on a clip and then do a crossfade. I dont know if this ends up in a final rendered version though. For example I have a clip with reverb and treble adjustment filters and when it crossfades out it makes strange crackling/gurgling sound.

Yeah, I think that is the problem with the software. In the problem clips I have several filters.

Oy! I guess time to go to Avid or something else.

If you think that it's caused by too many effects, why don't you render the clips separately, and then nest them in another timeline and do the crossfade?

The gurgling goes away when I play the audio through my soundcard..it only happens on playback through the firewire. Rendering it out in passes might be a good work around.

That's the sound my stomach makes when I'm hungry.

Recheck your monitor levels and make sure its not peaking. If you have a third party audio program, check there to make sure too.

PS: My Rice Crispy & Treats makes the same sound too.

..you can prerender audio in PPRO 1.5 ..just go up to the "clip" menu, and i think its under audio-> render and replace or just "render and replace audio" anyway it renders the audio clips you have selected (i just do them all at once) and replaces the original file with a rendered file.

..as far as switching to avid or anything else.. go right ahead. but dont kid yourself.. the grass isnt always greener. its gets old hearing people say they will switch because of every little problem. and they all have them. however avid pro HD currently has naitive DVCPRO HDsupport if you needed it for the HVX. adobe has yet to whisper its intentions to play that new game. they are always hush about everything.
