I've got a shoot in Salem next week. I've always wanted to go there, but I'll only be there for about a day and a half. Any locals have any idea what I shouldn't miss while I'm there? I'm pumped for this.

Hate to break it to you, but it's kinda boring. Boston, however, is sweet. There's some museum or something, but it's not much.

I wouldnt know but did a quick search on Salem. How can there not be some cool places to check out? They used to burn chicks alive for cryin out loud; anything historic has got to be cool.
Horse; you gonna have the DVX with you? Shoot some stock of the cemetary's.

I really want to, but I don't think I'll be able to fit it in with the rest of the gear. We're doing a thing for TV Land. They just unveiled a Bewitched statue and that's what we're shooting. It'll be a QuickTime VR and maybe some BetaSP. I doubt I'll have room for it. I'd kill to bring the DVX along.

Hey Horse --
I lived just across the harbor in Beverly. You need to get yourself to Marblehead... old town... down by the water.
For Salem, there's a newish market square type thing right in the center of town. Good whale watching from there. Take one of the boats. June - August are good months.
House of 7 gables is just off downtown... I never had a good time... but my Mom always did... Infact, I'm IM'ing her now and we both can't remember the street (hwy) to Marblehead.
Get some lobster for me!!!! DAMN YOU!!!
There's also an island off Marblehead -- with a landbridge... Natik?? I forget.
Stay away from Lynn -- Lynn, Lynn the City of Sin, Never come out the way you went in!
Oh -- on the bridge before you get to Beverly -- Bill and Bobs... get the chicken fingers and an order of onion rings.
Ipswich is good for old church and old town... head off to Plum Island for some GREAT dunes and wild life.
Damn, have fun!

Damn that sounds fun. I cannot wait to get back East; no history in San Diego.

no history in San Diego.
I know how you feel. The only history here is that 38 Dakota Indians were hanged in my home town (the largest mass hanging in history). Not exactly the stuff tourism is made of.:embarasse

Thats wrong man. Funny; but wrong. Not the hanging part; the 'tourism qoute'
Yeah, San Diego is Spanish Missions; that's about it. And who really gives a rat's ass about Spanish Missions you know?

Ah -- Spanish missions... can't fund that part of California history with public funds... church and state and all!!!
