Rush --
Thanks for the mug. I ordered two boxes of tapes from EVS and got it from UPS yesterday.
Man, was it heavy! I open it up and there's this black thing... OH MY GOD!!! They charged me for a telephoto lens!! -- Wait... maybe they're GIVING it to me...
I unwrap the wrapper and -- well...
Thanks for the mug. You guys are great.

The place I order my tape stock from always sends me free M&Ms. Today I got my latest shipment and opened up the box to devour the delicious treats -- alas, the bag was opened and there was melted chocolate all over the place. I thought the thin candy shell was supposed to act as a protective barrier! :( No M&Ms swag for me today. I'm betting EVS mugs don't melt like that!
Just thought I'd share.

You can't avoid it, but you can certainly minimize it -- California offers a sales tax break for purchases of production-related equipment. I think it drops to like 3% sales tax.

Ah! This is torture. I ordered some time last week, and the stuff must be stuck somewhere in Fedex over the 3-day weekend. It has my tripod and UV filter too.

Got my mug last night too, along with my 50 tape rack, and 15 MQ tapes. I am brewing a fresh pot of coffee right now to test it out! Thanks Rush! The only think that would make it better is if I were at home editing, instead of here at work :(
You're welcome PDX. Seeing as though we just became Rosco Gels dealers, our first gel company, I am also having them drop off a couple hundred of the little Cinegel swatch books (with all the regular gels as well as the silver and gold fabrics) and we will be putting them inside each mug.
They are a really cool company and they made a special custom "EVS Gel Kit" for us, with 50 of the most popular Cinegels in 10x12" cut form. So I figure their swatches deserve some publicity :cheesy: They don't weigh anything either, like 2 oz., so they don't add to the package weight.

Instead of a mug, how about a T-shirt or cap for orders over a certain amount. I have tons of T-shirt "swag" that I wear on-set. Think I made some sales from wearing them. Or maybe at least a safety mug since it's not prudent to take a standard mug on-set ("Anyone seen my EVS mug?" "What's EVS?" "......")

Hey Wabbit, thanks for the ideas, but mugs and such are mainly a means for us to say 'thank you', and even though I like the DVXuser/EVS shirt, I think it may send the wrong message. There are many other fine companies like Abel Cine and B&H represented on DVXuser, and the beauty of this forum is that it has remained, thanks to Jarred/BarryG/BarryS and many others' diligence, an impartial region of space with no favorites :)
Besides, the fonts wouldn't match! :grin:
