Hi guys, i have just moved from a mark ii to a hpx250.
Just bought it today and its brand new i looked at the base of it and it has markings on it... i called my dealer they said thats just how it is, and it appears on all the hpx250s hes seen.
See the image attached, do you guys have this as well? Is this normal or is this a manufacturing fault? Clearly a tripod plate that thin cant be put on there so it cant be used/must be how it is?
Please see attached image.
thanks

I bought mine brand new last month and it's flawless - absolutely no tripod impression whatsoever. Questionable dealer here. I'd check the hours total hours in the menu to verify. It should be pretty much all 0 as it's for me.
BTW, glad you're adding the HPX250 fr. the 5Dm2. 5Dm2 is nice, but just not applicable for most shooting scenarios. I'm finding more and more uses w/ the HPX250 than any of the hdSLRs now. It's simply more practical.

Hi,
maybe a technician put the cam on a pedestal for a last check up, it don't looks like a tripod plate, the mark is too thin.
but check the hours meter.

Mine's from Australia, Lemac in Richmond and I didn't have those marking's on the bottom, they ordered mine in and I was basically there when it was delivered, so I'm not sure if they do check's on it before they sell it??

hey liamr - it seems its normal i contacted panasonic pro and they said this
Hi
Thank you for contacting us.
There is no problem with your camera. There are lines there as under that spot is reinforced with another material to strengthen the spot for tripod plates.
Congratulations on being extra observant - that is the first time we have ever received that question!"
thanks everyone, just had to double check
