how to get AVCHD footage from hard drive into FCP 7 project

I usually put SD card into computer and capture AVCHD footage from AC160 and HMC-150 through log and transfer.
How do I transfer footage, that was offloaded during a shoot onto an external hard drive and given to me at end of shoot,
from that external hard drive into FCP? It won't drop and drag and don't see a way through L&T. Thanks.

I found an "add volume" option in the upper left hand corner in Log and Transfer window and am getting footage through that.
