View Full Version : AC160 Reordering Barry Green's Book?

I was wondering if it is possible to reorder Barry Green's book that you can order for free with your camera? I sent in my information card, in order to get the book, a couple a months ago and still haven't received it. The reason I think it did not go through was because the info card said the serial no. for the camera was located underneath the eyepiece, so I located that number and listed it. I just found out last week though that the serial number on my 160 is not under the eyepiece but next to the zoom rocker. So I'm assuming the reason I never received a book is because they probably looked at my info, saw an invalid serial number, and threw it out.
I'd really like to get the book if I can. I was wondering if Barry or anyone here could tell me a way to re-order it. Thanks!

That info card was your product registration. It also extends the warranty on your camera from 1 yr to 3 years.
Instead of sending in the card, people can also register their camcorder online by going to this page, and using the AVCCAM option:

Once your camcorder is registered, the book should be sent to you, and you will also then have a 3 year warranty.
If you don't get the book within 10 days of registering, contact provideo support at Panasonic USA for further assistance.

I have many fulfillment cards that have the wrong or incorrect serial number, and none have been thrown out. In fact, I've reached out to every one of them -- sent email to their email address (when they included it), called the phone number (when they included it), and mailed letters out to those who didn't include other contact info. Surprisingly, almost every single case of my reaching out to those folks has failed. I think maybe two or three people have responded with their proper serial number, and pretty much nobody else has.
So -- if you sent in your card and haven't received the book after a couple of weeks, the likelihood is that you don't have the right serial number, and you need to supply that before I can fulfill the request. Send me a PM with your name, addr and the right serial number. If I can match up your name & addr to a card that I have in the "unfulfilled" pile, and the serial number is valid, then I will gladly fulfill it.

So you actually do the fulfillment Barry? I had assumed that you just shipped a bunch of manuals to Panasonic, and they handled all of that.
