Talking about the "filmmaking / creative", "cameras / gear", etc forum home page tabs that were added with the last update.

Do you use them? Do you have suggestions of how to better categorize them, or new categories, etc?

Still have plans for users to eventually be able to create their own custom default tab with just hte forums/categories they want. but, that is probably still a bit away...

I don't. I either go to the direct forum I want or use "new posts" to see what's going on. I'm not sure if I'd use the fully custom one either because my interests change so much over time.

I usually just view new posts. However, I do occassionaly use the tabs. To be more helpful, I'd love to be able to click on the sub-forum directly from "All Forums" or one of the forum categories. It would eliminate an extra click to navigate to a sub-forum, from 3 clicks to 2.

FROM: "Production / Post-Production Tools" > "NLE Software" > "FCP X"
TO: "Production / Post-Production Tools" > "FCP X"

You can still keep the "NLE Software" sub-forum so people could view that if they want.

yeah. unfortunately, that plugin will only allow it at the forum level, and not hte sub-forum level. It will require some code modification to allow more specific tabs like you mentioned. But it is something that is planned on our end.

I do use it. :) Especially with the filmmaking/creative.

Not often but sometimes. It's nice to have different ways to find what you want.

if you are being serious... yes, right below the big banner on the main page. but, you would not be able to see them if you happen to have javascript disabled on your web browser. In that event, you would just see the default forum list.

Well... I'll be damned, there ARE tabs! (I guess that answers your question for me):)
I sit mostly on the 'new posts' page...and then search for other info as needed. I guess the tabs could be useful though.

I don't. I use "What's New" and "Quick Links -> Subscribed Threads" exclusively.
