Apparently my last question was unclear. I will try again.

I have a bunch of DVX100A 24pa footage that I captured to DV-AVI files at 30fps before I got my PPro 1.5 software.

Is it correct that importing these clips into a project where the DVX100A 24pa setting preset has been selected will remove the 2:3:3:2 pulldown? Or does the footage need to be recaptured into PPro 1.5?

The goal is to output the finished project to 35mm film. I have 50 hours of captured footage and just want to make sure before I begin editing. Thanks.

it should perform a pulldown.. removing pulldown would mean its putting the extra frames back in.

as a note you would want each shot to be its own clip since the 24pa cadance can vary from shot to shot as far as being consistant throught the entire tape.. so if you did not capture with scene detection on youd want to recapture.. if you did.. it should work fine..

you can just import a clip into the timeline and try it .. should be a pretty simple way to check and be sure. if you need to render it.. its not right...or your settings are wrong

Okay thanks for the correction. I'm still trying to figure all this DVX jargon out. Since the footage properties of the clips are showing in PPro at 24 fps and I don't have to render, I'm pretty certain that when importing 30fps clips PPro is performing a pulldown (removing the extra frames) I even tested by counting frame by frame to make sure there were 24 in each second of video and that none were interlaced.

I feel pretty confident that all systems are go for the edit. Thanks for your help!
