View Full Version : Shooting a ceremony

I am going to shoot the Surfer's Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Huntington Beach this July. They will have 4 people giving short speeches then putting their hands and feet in wet cement like the ceremony at the Chinese theater in Hollywood. It will be me with my DVX and another guy with a Canon GL1. I am okay with the different cameras and I will be shooting 24p. My question is to you pros: Which camera would you use for the stationary head on fixed position shot and which one would you use for the roaming camera? Any ideas how you would set this up?

i would shoot in 60i so that they cut together better. then, i'd just pick. i'd probably put the other guy on the static cam cause that seems less fun.
then again, the dvx is much better for sound, so i'd probably use a mic splitter to split the signal from the speaker's podium or whatever and feed that to the dvx and use that for static.
