I'm taking a project shot in 24PA & rendering out to an AVI file for keeping on hand (so I'll have one clean file in the future for renders to Quicktime, Media Player, MPEG, etc.) after I ditch the project file, etc.

When I go to render it to AVI, Vegas automatically selects inserting 2-3 pulldown, but when I go into the customize section, I see there's also an option for 2-3-3-2 pulldown.

Which one should I be using? I know there's a difference between 24P and 24PA, but I can't recall which pulldown is used for which.

2-3 is 24P and 2-3-3-2 is 24PA

Yes, but when looking at the online help section within Vegas, there appears to be a difference of which you want to render it to, depending on if the AVI file is going to tape, or if it's going to be used again as source material in the future.

In this case, the AVI will be used as source material, specifically when I want to take the AVI and render it to MPEG2, Media Player, Quicktime, etc.

Since its a source material, keep it at the source material setting that Vegas tells you. I usually keep my videos at 24P when I render them to tape/computer. It's more a personal decision I guess.
