Animated Blur?

So I want to set up a blur that progresses over about thirty or forty frames, or so...using the Gaussian Blue filter in Premiere Pro...starting with no blur on frame 001, and gradually progressing to 100% blur by frame 040.

But, near as I can tell, that filter can only be applied at one level across a range of frames.

Is there a way to ramp blur up and down, over time...?

sure- just add keyframes anda adjust the settings per keyframe as any other effect in the "effects control panel"

hmm...I must be running a different version that you are; my menu has Video Effects->Blur & Sharpen->Gaussian Blur, with no adjustment tools I can find, for effecting the blur...

...helps when you actually bring up the correct windows.
