Hi all,

I'm working with PAL footage 720-576, capturing 24 progressive widescreen footage off the DVX into Premiere pro 1.5. Being as PAL is 720-576 why is Premiere locking all of the PAL presets to 720-480? I noticed that when you change the frame rate from 23.976 to 25, it changes the frame size to 576, why does the frame rate have anything to do with the frame size? Am I missing something here?

Cheers

ah.....

Just found out that the PAL model only supports 25p, now that is severely frustrating due to the 4% slow down or speed up between framerates. So the problem isn't with Premiere at all, just Panasonic's inability to provide a 24p PAL camera. Anyway, thanks for looking guys, that kinda closes this thread before it's even begun.

PAL have only 25p or 50i. All movies that shows in a PAL system shows with 25 pictures/sec. Its 4% faster

It's not much to worry about really, anyways - if you were getting a film-out, the house would adjust the speed for you, and if you aren't, most likely you'd be only using a PAL version if you had a PAL camera anyways.
