View Full Version : Windows 2000, Premiere 6.5, Canon XL-2 - unable to capture video

I just purchased a new canon xl-2 and am once again on the odyssey to find the right driver for all concerned. Has anyone run into this problem? Can anyone point me in the right direction. All I can find on Adobe's site is support for the Mac operating system.

update all drivers. try different firewire port.. be sure to have camera turned on and plugged in WHEN THE COMPUTER IS BOOTED UP. then try different cable, and try reinstlling NLE and drivers.

here is a much simpler way to probably solve your problem.
Plug in your Firewire to the DV out and turn on the Canon XL2. Your OS should bring up a wizard guide to install the threads for reading the firewire input as a Canon camera. In the bottom right corner should appear a small camcorder icon which indicates the driver threads have been installed. Good luck!
