Clean HDMI out to external recorder?

Hi,

Has anyone used an external recorder such as the Ninja, Pix 220, or other such HDMI-enabled recorders to record 24p from a C300 via HDMI specifically? I have a Pix 220 and wanted to know how well it will work compared to using an HD-SDI recorder. I am aware either choice is 8-bit out, but aside from that...?

I've not used an external recorder w/ my C300 yet, but it is entirely feasible. HDMI out is clean.

Thanks for the response, cowpunk52. I suppose it must speak to the quality of the built-in codec that there are seemingly few mentions of this type of workflow. As if few users found the need to use an external recorder, or at least those that did, happened to use an SDI recorder (either that or they don't frequent dvxuser forums). I might just write to Canon to find out unless someone else chimes in regarding the successful use of HDMI for this specifically.
