Hey,

I was wondering, is there a difference from using an EF adapter for the XL cameras and using a DIY mini35?
I mean after all, we do use a Canon lens for some of the DIY BUT the canon EF adapter overrides the cheaper lens such as the DVX. If you get my drift...
So, whats the deal folks?

the cannon lense adaptor with whatever lense will not give you 35mm DOF .. it will have the same DOF as any other lense aside from perhaps the ability to go more tele and create a shallower dof look from that. but you need an intermediate imaging system to get the 35mm DOF and again the canon adaptor and whatever lense you put on it will not do that for you .. the mini35 and all its variants will. they project the image onto an intermediate screen and then let you re-image/capture that 35mm sized projected image with its 35mm dof into your camera. this could be explained alot better, but im tired. surely someone with energy will be more helpful, but i hope this has helped some in at least letting you know what you CAN an CANNOT do with each type of device.
