This is probably a n00b question but I just started using Vegas and have a problem. I'm finishing up a vid for the "Egg Chain Letter" and need to resize a pic.

I have a pic of an egg and tried resizing it in Photoshop(20x13). But when I brought it into Vegas it blew up the picture filling the whole screen. I tried pan/crop but still can't get the egg small enough. If I bring in the egg picture from photoshop at 500x500 it still pan/crop's in Vegas to the same size as before I know I'm messing up somewhere, please help.

Thanks.

There are 2 choices under "Source" in Pan/Crop:

"Maintain aspect ratio" & "Stretch to fill frame"

Say No to the Stretch. That should do it.

Hmmm...I unchecked it and the egg doesn't want to resize at all. When checked it will resize, just not small enough.

In the pan/crop window right click on the image and chose restore. This is the largest image (and the smaller egg) you can have, unless you don't mind having black margins at the four sides of the frame in which case you may either use pan/crop or track motion to make the egg smaller.

If you can't get it any smaller by resizing, you could move it further back using the Z axis in Track Motion.

But that requires the egg to be on its own track, keyed so only it shows up.

Gotta be a better way.
