Nope. Just select Dolby Digital in your export (or use Dynamic Link to bring your sequences into Encore and it'll be handled in the presets).

Surcode is for 5.1 encoding, which the AC160 does not capture. If you do want to produce a 5.1 mix from your audio, then you will need to set that up in your sequence and then you will need to purchase Surcode.

For what it's worth, if you're using the PH mode then you should be capturing PCM on the AC160.

Dolby Digital is compressed audio, PCM is not (well, not in the same way). PCM will give you better audio to work with in the edit. If you do not need to manipulate your audio in the editing process, then you can stick with Dolby Digital and save a little bit of storage space.

The big deal about the AC160 is that it has essentially only 4 features that differentiate it from the AC130:
- VFR mode shooting
- HD-SDI output
- PCM audio option
- NTSC/PAL switchable.

If you don't need any of those features, the AC130 saves a good bit of cash. Just like that HD-SDI output gives you an option to record higher quality video to an external device, the PCM recording option gives you higher quality audio.

Sorry....rambling...short answer, PCM is better quality.
