dvda recognizing external burner ?

hello,
wondering why my vegas 5 dvda 2 is not finding my external sony dvd burner.It automatically finds the internal burner in my computer.I shouldnt say not finding the external burner, actually when I go to burn a disc, the only option is my internal burner. Am I missing a setting? Thanks.

is there software that came with the burner to install it? you might need need to install it.

the software is installed.dont know why it doesn't see the burner.in fact it has been installed before i even owned vegas

I Had same problem and I just return the sony and bought lacie dvd burner works fine.
