Hi again,
I'm editing a little trailer in imovie that was shot in squeeze, f5 (24p normal) and it is remaining as a sqeeezed 4:3 image, does anyone know if there is a way to get it to 16:9 it or "unsqueeze" it, I can't find anything in the help menus... Thanks!

Which version of iMovie are you running? If it is not the iLife '05 version, then you are pretty much out of luck.
iMovie HD can do 16x9, so I would recommend getting that if you are using 16x9 and iMovie. http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie/import.html

Hold the phone! I just scored imovie HD and in the help it says "Imovie will automatically adjust the screen to fit 16:9 footage or other frame sizes" but i shot it in squeeze and it ain't adjusting! It looks just like the squished up viewfinder... I don't see anything in the menus either, any tricks with the camera menus maybe? ideas? anyone?

AHA! (This is turning into a dialogue with myself...) I figured it out in case anyone wants to know (say what you want about imovie, but until I get my hands on FCPHD; Hendrix still would have sounded badass on a $50 Sears guitar!)
Anyway, when you go to "Create New Project" There is a pulldown menu where you have to choose "DV Widescreen" and you will notice that you get more vertically on the sides than the viewfinder shows! Actually this is slightly troubling as I was framing in the viewfinder but...
There it is folks. Happy imovie-ing...
