This is Amarfis news music video. It was shot with the DVX100A and cut on FCP 4. Shot on its original lens; 1 polarized filter, no color correction, no lights; 2 reflectors, hand held and a broken crane... and music playback from the car. It was directed by Albert Xabier. www.albertxavier.com

Check it out and tell me what you think.

If you don't have much patience for the streaming video, go to his website and on "flash news" right click on the link to the video and save it in your hard drive.

Roman, the video has a very professional look to it and I like the camera moves and the pacing of the edits. I don't care for the vignette you've got going on the edges of the frame, it's way too distracting and screams "effect" to me. I think the shots would be much stronger without it.

Nice job.

Thanks disjecta.

I agree with you... the vignettes are not necessary. It’s a bit to late to make changes because it already premiered in national television this morning.
PS I did not work on this production.

John Hudson: how long did it take you to shoot the rock video you have?

HAHA, I used to do Merengue music videos awhile back. It's cool. They could of had more women in the video. *;) Cool, broken crane, no lights, music playback by car, and some really expensive mercedes, intresting production... Peace!

Oh by the way, what's your relation with the director? A friend?

Que lo que Roman ! ;D
Dejame introducirme primero.Mi nombre es Oscar Tineo soy dominicano residente en queens new york con aspiraciones a ser filmaker so if you need any help with a project I will be more than happy to collaborate.
Here is my email: inzotineo@yahoo.com

Mi opinion personal es que el video esta bien editado y no me molesta the blur effect used but I think the video needs to be color corrected so it could look more cinematic porque algunas partes del video se ven bueno como video.

Cool man. I shot a merengue music video a couple years ago. Not on the DVX because it wasn't out then. I wish I had it then, it would have made the video look more professional. I was actually dancing to yours. ... oh yeah...more girls in it next time!

RJ-

That was a completely professional looking video. I have nothing to criticize. I didn't mind the vignette effect. And I love latin music, especially Merengue, Cha Cha, and Salsa. We could all do with a bit more happy stuff like that.

And the model was heart-stopping, thanks for sharing.

Hey guys! thank you all for posting. :)

I have to specify again that I DID NOT WORK ON THIS VIDEO

The people who shot, direct and edit it are very talented and that you can see it yourself... they get all the credit. ;)

yeah, about the "vignette" effect on the edge... I think some shots it looked great on... and others it was distracting... other than that, it looked great.

Hey guys!!!! Its the fucking director!!!!! HAHAHAH This is really cool. I didn't know you can post stuff up here! Roman thanks for this link. Guys, out of the 62 music videos I have done including the 35mm ones, this is one of my best videos that I can say looked like HD/Film shot with the DVX. It was fun. The crew was the bomb. I think thats what really counts...your crew. Without them...you are nothing! But the vignette thing...the song for many who don't understand the lyrics...the concept of this girl with the artist is that she was never there...so it needed more like a dream effect. The guy sings because his girl left his ass for being a drunk. SO its a reminice. As for the quality...well its hot on digibeta and DVD. Online, you know guys..the broadband suck so theres compression and the true colors are hard to reveal. So with that said...ummmm...yeah, we shot it in 5 hours, one day 2 location moves. Fun eh? Budget? Not even going to tell you...but I'd like to ask those to guess and tell me via this medium of communication...how much do you think the budget was??? Guess guess....

8) Hey Guys...It's the Fucking Producer!!! Hey thanks for the Love. It's like what Albert the Director says, you gotta have dedicated people working with you and everything falls in place. I Loved the challenge, i had less than 24 hours to to get get shit organized and less than 2 hours to get the locations. Thank god for knowing the right people at the right time & @ the right place ;D. I'm looking forward to working with Albert in the future. Thanks for the love guys, ONE!!!
