hey all - having read zoom's article on the DIY LED light - I decided to try my hand at it...

I have just made an array of 60 leds and have tested it with a sony battery (3.6V) - currently the LEDs are in 2 serial arrays hence why i can test at 3.6v

now my Q is how would i go abouts connecting it to the panasonic battery (this is a 2 part Q)

part A - the sony has 3 bits - postive, negative and ground - so i pretty much stuck a led into the appropriate hole to test...

with the pansonic though - there are 4 slots - pos, min, T and something else (slipped my mind) - do i have to do something to the 2 middle connections?

PART B

I would love suggestions on mounting the battery or if there are any parts I can buy (hopefully in Australia or a place willing to ship for cheap). the only available battery charger aside from the orig. is one i saw on Ebay bu that is 40$ shipped - and i didnt really want to spend that much money on it just so i could hack the top bit off... so any suggestions/links would be really appreciated

BTW the whole idea is to make a led light i can mount on the camera OR possible on a mini tripod ..

thx :)

You might look at some of the Nebtek products. They are the ones who adapt / make the LCD's with OEM (Panasonic, Canon, JVC, Sony, etc) battery options on the back. They make a power "block" that uses the Panasonic DVX battery, and "pigtails" out for power connect. See the link below:

thanks for the reply - but that is a bit too costly unfortunately...
