External Monitor Help

Sup,

I'm tryning to use my Laptops monitor as a external monitor.

My laptop iLINK input, what i did was took my ilink from my computer, pluged it into the laptop.

I'm lost... When i pluged both of them in.. All i got was a added hardware notice...

Please help!
