I have logged a few hours on my new AC160. I'm getting used to the differences after years with my DVX-100A. I purchased SanDisk 16 & 32GB series 10 cards. While double recording in highest quality mode (PH) I had slot 2 card failure. I format my cards in the camera. I reformatted the failed card and have been running tests to get it to fail again but it hasn't - yet. Any thoughts? I'm about to buy more cards. Should I go for Panasonic?

Also, can I buy seiries 6 cards and save some money? The AC160 manual says I can use minimum series 4. Anyone going that low?

Also, also, are 64GB cards ready to be trusted? (series 6 or 10?)

Thanks.

I own (without failures) Panasonic CL10 16GB, and Maxell CL10 32GB and Sony CL10 32GB. Not sure what their model numbers are but they were all sold to me by my equipment seller.

Ahoy captain,
I just purchased my 160 and am loving it! i would suggest buying the Panasonic cards you can. I have the Panasonic class 10 cards. There's no need to be worried about your footage too, and its not like buying tape stock. I own a go pro and have notice at times my macbook doesn't read my SanDisk cards right away. So take the stress off and get the best cards you can, its not worth the headache or losing a client.

Thanks Big O and ELN. I will consider the Panny cards. I still have a few questions if you feel like tackling them as well. Have either of you used series 6 cards?

I would not risk saving a few bucks by going with a slower card, like a class 6. Class 10 only. Plus class 10 gives you more camera upgrade latitude.
