Interesting question. Frizzle's dead on, Vegas doesn't work on OS X...
However, the Intel/Mac developers machine released three days ago will actually load WindowsXP, so technically a year or two from now you could buy an Intel/Mac computer, erase OSX, load WinXP, and run Vegas from it, but it wouldn't be a supported configuration and wouldn't really be a Mac. The short answer is no.

Curious speculation, wells. It's going to be fun watching how this all plays out. I'd like to know what Jobs' master plan is...cause you just know it's going to be wicked cool.

well crap. i shot all in 24p and know absolutely nothing about video editing and had learned that it is eons easier to edit 24p with vegas... is it that much harder (or a compromise in quality) to use FCP or should I take that money and buy a PC just for editing? Man i HATE pc's...

wells, thanks for the great links!
evolvnyc, if you hate Windows, then you really should get a Mac. Remember, both will get the job done equally well, but if you don't like the tools you're using, your work will suffer--or it just won't be as fun for you, and fun is what it should be.
As I understand, FCP has a decent 24p workflow. Check the FCP forum to be sure, though.

You can edit 24p footage from the DVX in any NLE, iMovie included. You just can’t edit IN 24p with iMovie. But you will be able to edit the files you capture, and they will still retain the 24p aesthetic.
There’s nothing wrong with FCP and editing 24p natively, except that you have to jump through a lot more hoops to get to it, hoops which Vegas doesn’t make you jump through. Working in native 24p is much easier in Vegas, and you don’t have to use any special settings to capture or remove pulldown. You can also use the same files to edit in 60i.
