Lately here at the shop we have been encountering DOZENS of the Panasonic 17'' monitors with issues. More than we see other models such as the 1710. One of these issues comes from a line going across the screen. Other times it is dead pixels. Personally, I could live with a dead pixel in maybe the FAR corner, but I have been seeing more and more come in with them dead center. No bueno. Same thing with accidents such as scratches, dropped monitors, etc.
Typically, you would contact Panasonic. However, they offer you the same unit for about $2000.00. Lucky for Us we came across a ton of brand new LCD's and have been lucky enough to save people the headache of Panasonic. Since we do the replacement in a matter of hours, the down time has been reduced as well as the out of pocket headache for many clients of ours.
Another issue has been the A/V inputs. Has anyone had any broken pins or loose connections lately? That is another issue we have encountered.
Either way, would love to hear from anyone who is familiar with this monitor and its issues.
