I quickly put this together. The Trailer-

BLUESPIDER

Merced county. Those are actually the real swat team. I guess theres no need for actors when you have the real thing on set.

GET OUT! how cool is that?! what did you guys offer up for THAT favor? and were you able to shoot without permits, or no-can-do?

We've always been extremely lucky. We never had to get anykind of permits to shoot anywhere. I'm pretty good friends with the film commisioner plus most of the crew either knows somebody that knows somebody. We had the police block off a street just so we can film a car smashing into a pole. The Fire department, two cops, lots of road flares, 1 AMR, and two volenter officers to help out with the scenes. And yes, no permits! The neighboors who lived on the street actually welcomed us. All because I knew 1 person.. Liability is one thing we all have to remember, but they totally trust us, suckas. kidding.

Oh I forgot, no joke, we just bought the officers and inmates dounuts. That's all! :)

wow. the wonders of the world outside the greedy bitches of LA and NY. well, i'll let you shoot in my living room if you buy me a donut. I heard they shot that famous "Poker Night" there, and "A Tribute to P.K. Gillock".

I totally dig the flare coming off the swat guy in the stairwell.

"inmates" as in INMATES, not ACTORS?

Hi, the right translation in italian is " non vale la pena"....... :)

Yes real INMATES, the hands you see and the homeboy with the tatted leg are the real deal. He's actually wanted for attempted murder. They didn't give us any problems because they had krispy Creams. :)

Bluespider-

I am in awe. And in your honour, I will go get some Krispy Kreme's this morning! Those shots look fantastic and the way you were able to get them (I know somebody who knows somebody...) is just one of those things to love!

Cant wait to be able to see more of this.

I'll be back soon...donut run. (I wonder if I can get away with wearing the pj's and fluffy slippers...)

haha, that's too funny. I kinda thought the opposite.. The DP could of had done a better job.. We had all the coolest lights available and the DP didn't take full advantage of it. Well, I'm glad you like it. Thanks.. *;D

haha, sorry I'm going o laugh agian. Most of the audio in the trailer I used was raw. It was enchanced a tad in post so you can hear it. We used a sony ??? can't remember but it cost us $700 dollars. It was ECM.. I'll find out. Thanks Terri for the positive comments..

edit: I found the mic, Sony ECM-672..

Well, it didnt have the "hollow" sound that lots of things have (like my head). haha!!! It sounded better than lots. My stuff usually sounds somewhat canned and tinny, but I have not used external mics on my own stuff yet. Too confused as to which one to get.

Thanks, we wrapped the shot 2 months ago. Now I'm just in the process of editing and mixing down the audio. Try editing this when you don't speak a word of spanish. Okay I can understand alittle bit still it's very difficult at times.. This was shot 4:3 and cropped in post.

wow. the wonders of the world outside the greedy bitches of LA and NY.

Word! That's why I got out of L.A. My roomie had a $2mill insurance policy from USC to shot at any location. Give it up for the outskirts and other countries that welcome filmmakers instead of trying to tax em.

Nice work, Spidey.

Here in Denver, you can pretty much shoot anywhere, we aren't jaded about film production at all. The cops are cool too. I was recently involved in a production where we had blow-back guns out on the street, look real, sound real, etc., the cops showed up to check us out and let us do our thing. No permits.

Hey Spidey,
I am down here in LA and working on my own stuff, similar to what you are doing. If you need any type of assistance just let me know. I know spanish and would like to help out with what ever I can.

Great stuff by the way.

You might also check out escape de los santos. Maybe we can all do a "Mexican Movie Fest" or something.

Dude that's awesome! So the SWAT team was just available to you to direct? I'm assuming that building footage was staged? How close are you to being finished?

Pretty much..

everything is staged of course, its a movie. *;) *I'm given 2 more weeks before I hand the finished product to the director. Some editing and audio mix down left only.

Thanks for the compliments.. :)

I wish I can take credit for the cinematographer. For the record, my only duty on this production is editor. Thanks agian for your all your positive feed back.

I bet the SWAT team used real guns. You have to have a lot of trust of having real guns pointing at the poor camera guy. ;D
