I have been a member of Canon's CPS Platinum Support Program to cover my DSLR gear and have really enjoyed the cost and benefits. I was hopeful that the C300 would be included in Canon CPS product lineup but sadly, it is not. The EOS cinema product line has its own support program named Professional Production Systems Support. I don't have much details yet but I was told on the phone today that the yearly fee is $999. That is a real disappointment, I am already paying $500/year for the CPS, since they are so eager to see users transition from DSLRs to C300, Canon should reward existing CPS members.

Cheers,

That is a bit disappointing. I would hope that there are many significant benefits to Canon's PPSS, and i'm curious as to what they might be

well, that is a little lame, but do take into account that neither Canon or Panasonic even offer an upgraded service option. Considering what CPS offers for either $100 or $500 depending on your level, im sure the new setup will have some kind of benefit.

What does that $1000 a year get you? I always found it a bit odd that they're offering a 1 year warranty on a $16,000 camera.

Panasonic offers 3 and 5 year camera warranties at no extra charge, easy access to engineers and fast turnaround on repairs. $999 service program and a one year warranty? Wow Canon, I'm underwhelmed.

Is there no Warranty Extension like with Panasonic? I had my HVX under such a warranty extension and it is a flawless process to get stuff fixed. Takes 3 days and is effortless. I think it costed 500 for 2 years (after the 2 I had anyway); so 500 for 4 years.....

Does Canon have nothing like that? What about 3rd party warranty extensions?

Yep. Just saw the C300EF and PL as qualified CPS Video devices.
