shutter speeds

I have a small problem with shutter speeds: Once selected syncro scan I cannot return to the "normal" settings which give me shutter speeds of 1/6.25 OR 1/12.5.
Can anybody tell me how to switch between syncro scan and the available shutter speeds of 1/6.25 OR 1/12.5?

got it: VFR OFF....doh
