Not technically shot out of focus.... I think the lack of defintion comes primarily from the final compression in which i distorted the image to export it anamorphic... Perhaps there is a better way to get a widescreen quicktime file without killing the sharpness of the image.

In addition considering that everysingle person was shot individually against blue screen, the resizing might accomodate for some of the loss. Though, our final full res version does not look nearly as blurry which makes me think it was the anamorphic stretch... Anyone have any experience with this sort of issue?

This was really good. I think it has the best cut that i have seen compared to all the other shorts/films/ and music videos on this site. It has great composition and great pacing. i hope you expand this into a feature film, you should write the script and do the feature. I am a huge fan of film noir and i think you have made a supperb clip.

wow...i didnt realize you guys blue screened everyone in. too funny.

i havent had an issue with exporting widescreen making things seem softer. then again, i've never blue screened anything either.

the chalk outlines where done in post. ;D nothing about that short was even close to real. like noneed (targetdog) said, it was all done greenscreen, every person was shot individually
