I don't and probably wouldn't. At the price - and considering only event work - I'd rather get a matched AC130 or AC160. The additional quality of the 4:2:2 recording would be nice but it would be almost meaningless if I was mixing it with other non-4:2:2 cameras.

I prefer Panasonic camcorders, but if I were buying in totally fresh, I would consider the XF cameras, but only if I was getting multiple of those. Like I said, it doesn't make a lot of sense if I have 3 cameras at an event and only one of them is capable of 4:2:2 recording onboard.

I will say that I've heard some grumbling in the editing forums that the Canon codec isn't fully supported and has some quirks. Who knows...all I know for certain right now is that Panasonic's AVCHD files give no trouble so long as the actual workstation is beefy enough.

I myself had this debate and decided not to get it because of the short zoom. Doing mostly event work, and being a good distance away sometimes made me choose the ac130.

I'm also curious how this is working out for events.
