Anamorphic lens/Widscreen Question!!

Hello everyone i am in the process of purchasing an anamnorphoc adapter and i wanted to know if when you render your projects in widescreen and put it all on a dvd, are the bars you see top and bottom of the screen bigger or smaller then the ones you would normally get with the letterbox with out the anamorphic lens?

I thought when you render your project in 16:9 in vegas the bars get a little bit bigger?

They may be, but only because the in-camera letterbox is SLIGHTLY less wide than 1.78:1.

But for all intents and purposes, they're the same. So damn close it's not worth worrying about.
