Im trying to create a flickering light as if the image is being projected from an old film projector. I've been trying a few thing but have had no luck.
Can anyone help me out?

try a couple of levels keyframes then apply the wiggler to them

did you try filter called Strobe Light? it's part of AE and it's a great fast way to create flickering light. Just play around with Transfer modes add some scratches and there you have your old film look.
btw I know some Film Look plugins (http://www.bigfx.com/, http://www.nattress.com/filmEffects.htm and couple of others ) have this as a preset. so you might want to look into it.
