SFX: Really Muscular Finger.

I need help with an effect. I have an idea for a short, and the pay off shot is of a guy using a laptop, only his index finger is REALLY huge and muscular. How in the WORLD would I do that, or would someone do it for me for little to no pay?

No it's not sexual. Not that I can conceive of a way that that would even make sense but I figured I should throw that out there.

Muscular in what way? Do you mean it would be all big and vainy? Or do you mean like putting six pack abs on it or something? I think that sounds more like a make up effect than anything. You should look into how to make a fake prosthetic finger to slip over his current finger. The only other option is to create a 3D model of the desired finger and digitally mask it over his finger, which would be wrapped in greenscreen material. Those are the only ways I can think of for that particular effect.

Hmm, given that I have very little green scren (or 3D modelling) experience, maybe the prosthetic is the thing I should try. I'll google it, but do you have any ideas for good starting places?

You might get some milage out of rotoscoping (masking) the finger and using warping/distortion effects. Considering how "cartoony" the idea is though, you'd probably do better with CG to get the look you want.
