Downloading images from DVX to computer...

Hi DVXers....

Is there a "correct" way to download images from my DVX to the computer?

Is the digital image best coming straight from the camera, or should I buy a play back deck..... OR can I simply use a mini DV Sony for play back???

Does it matter? Is digital data at maximum no matter what device is playing it?

Firewire is firewire. To save wear and tear on the camera, I use something else for playback and capturing, my son's Canon Z85 - a $400 miniDV camera. As long as you're using firewire, you'll have the same capture from cheap camera to expensive deck.

The one pitfall is dropped frames, but that's an issue with your computer, not the camera.
