When ready, create a thread for your your script. When creating these threads you must include at least a logline and if possible a poster.

Question....is there a preference for how long the person/people must be trapped? Or does the amount of time not matter? Like if someone is being hunted and then are trapped at the end, would that qualify?

I love this idea. It should really produce some great stories.

The characters must be trapped for the majority (at least three quarters) of the script.
I don't want to limit creativity, but I don't want people avoiding the theme either.

We don't have to create a poster this time, do we?

Ditto on the theme - love it!

Any kind of trap (http://images.cheezburger.com/completestore/2011/2/22/e105c307-e906-4753-9b52-62ff16032e52.jpg)?

does it have to be a new script or can it already be online?

The classic kind of trapped. I'm not entertaining your fantasies here. :undecided Well not some of them anyway.

D'oh!

So it should be a script that hasn't been entered into any contests prior to Jan 5th 2012?

Time to oil the writing clockwork mechanism then.

You can enter this script in any contest you want, but you must've written it on or after Jan 1, 2012.

Well dang it. My FatherFest (was that what it was called) script was about 3 pages. Too short. My entry for this would be about 10 pages. Too long. One of these days....

Hey can a character be, you know, metaphorically trapped? Like under social pressures or facing a hard decision or something?

No, they must be pysically trapped.

can 'physical' mean that it can also be an 'entity' who is trapped?

If that entity is your character.

it's a main character, yes..
and a technical question -
the 1-6 pages do not include the title page right?

The title page does not count toward your total.

Unrelated to the theme in question, but how often are the contests run?

I'm hoping to have one bi-monthly. I guess it depends on the participation in this fest.

Maybe some should forward this to R. Kelly so he can get motivated and write the next "Trapped in the Closet Chapter 24".

Heya, I have one question.
Is there any rule about genre? I mean, is it a problem if I'm writing comedy or action?
Better safe than sorry. Hope I'm not boring you. :)

The genre is open, so go wild.

That's what the man said. Normally we were running these with no prizes, just feedback and exposure.

Yo Chris, when can we expect submission instructions? I'd hate to miss them with a finished entry.

Says they'll be up at the end of the writing period, so I'm guessing 6th Feb. I think you get a couple of days to upload though, otherwise it's not fair on those of us with time differences.

Quick question: Is it okay to post the script elsewhere on the day of upload? I mean, upload it here for the contest obviously, but I also want to post it on my website, if that doesn't break the rules.

Go ahead. You can even enter it in other contests. You just have to have written it in the time period required.

I was thinking the deadline was Eastern, not Pacific time, so I was on a mad rush to get those scripts read. Got my reviews in about 6 minutes before what I thought was the deadline, haha.

A lot of good writing. This is my first ScriptFest, so I can't compare it with previous fests, but I'm already looking forward to the next fest.

Don't forget the 'exhibition' entries. They are in the contest but not eligible for the prize.
