Hello all,

I recently rendered my video using the DV PAL setting, which plays fine, with no interference on my computer. I then imported this final movie back into Premiere, so that I could render it out again with the Sorenson codec.. However the video footage once imported back into premiere has some strange white dots all over it, and they come out in the render also! Im not sure why this is happening, and was hoping someone could perhaps help me out?

You can see an example here,

looks like tape dropout to me..(sparklies) if it was intorduced AFTER capture .. it would be odd. but could somehow be from bad compression or corupted file i guess.

Its certainly strange, ive figured out thats its not the codec, it must somehow be embedded into the original DV PAL file. Is it something to do with the way that the screen interlaces the footage? Im quite new to all of this so its a bit confusing, but I have got certain filters running in the original render to achieve the look I want, and when the way that the image is built up changes (to be more suitable for a computer screen, i.e. Using the sorenson compressor) it seems to effect the movie.

The only thing that throws me, is that when the exact same, flawless DV pal file is imported back into Premiere, the artifacts show up on the preview. Hrm. They dont show up on the original edit with all of the original clips, but with the filters still applied, very odd indeed.

Thanks for your reply/suggestion, I appreciate it. If anyone else can think of any reasons, i'd appreciate that also. Im not too keen on the idea of rendering it again right away if theres another possible solution, as it takes almost 6 hours of my computers dedicated time.
