I'm about to buy a book on makeup and I'm not sure which one I should get.
I know "makeup" can sound pretty vague, but let's say anything cinema-oriented obviously, practical, and since I can't probably get everything in one book, I guess I should look for two of them, one about "classic" makeup, and one about more special things like wounds, etc.
Edit : oh and it's for a semi-beginner. Not for me, but someone of my filming crew, who only went to one course explaining the basics.

I would recommend books by Vincent J-R Kehoe.

That's not cheap, but probably worth it. Noted, thanks.
Anyone knows if this one is good ?

Looks less "classy" but still has good ratings.

Yeah, the kehoe books aren't cheap. I first started out... a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, wanting to do special effects make up, and the Kehoe books really helped out. If I remember correctly, his publisher, Focal Press, prints books that were, at the time, standard text for filmmaking. I picked up a movie camera, and went another direction in filmmaking, but those books still taught me a lot. of course, my first make up book was this one...

It is very basic, and not a book that I would recommend now, but I had a lot of fun with it.
I am not familiar with the book you posted, sorry.
