There is already a sticky for setting up the camera for video. However, if Ben_B (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/member.php?41866-Ben_B) wanted to include the video in the first post of that thread I think that would be cool.

As a new user of the GH2 I really appreciate this video and the manner in which it was produced. Thank you.

****EDIT****

Hi,
Thanks for the tutorial.

Questions:

Some of the items during the trip through the menu are highighted differently on your screen than mine. The most notable is my inability to set the camera to "Exposure Mode: S".

I am starting my trip with the dial on C1
Where do you have your dial when creating settings to save on C1?
Same question for your 1080 setting and 720?

How are you saving setting to iA?
Thanks and thanks in advance for anything you can share.

How many fps equivalent was the slowest, slow motion shot at the end? Twixtor used?
Thank you

Some of them are .5x but I think I did one at .3x or maybe it was .2x. This was a simple slow down. No interpolation like Twixtor was used. Shutter speed it the key. 1/125 works very well for very high speed motion. However, for medium speed motion you can use a faster shutter speed and really freeze the motion. I plan on doing a slow motion specific tutorial using very inexpensive if not free software.

You need to start with the "S" Shutter Priority mode and set your settings up. The go into the menu and use the save custom settings option for C1. Then you will be able to adjust the P.A.S.M modes in C1.

I figured as much. I am there and it is grayed out as "P".

Hello again.

I just got around to setting up the video settings. I see for C3, you use manual movie mode. What setting are you starting at for your 24P C2 mode?

It seems that Manual Movie Mode would limit the ISO keeping one from the high ISO experimentation people are doing with low light video. Can you help me understanding your reasoning and exactly your starting point for the 24P settings?

Thanks!

Also, do you not see a difference between INTRA hacks and your 42mb hack?

I appreciate the help.

I use shutter priority with Auto ISO most of the time for my videos. You can enable the high ISOs by using the exposure adjustment trick in shutter priority mode. I actually think you can get higher ISOs(ie: ISO 25,600) in that mode than with the hack(12,800).

I don’t find those ultra high ISOs to be terribly useful though. I simply think they have too much noise. The noise can be acceptable for Black and White. However, I really don’t shoot like that very often.

Yes there is a difference between the intra hacks and the more modest hacks. However, that difference has nothing to do with color, dynamic range, and motion. It has everything to do with frame by frame accurate editing and also more accurate noise at very high ISOs. I am working on a video to demonstrate this now.
