I'm building a micro35 type adapter entirely on my own (not for production purposes, but because I have a weird idea of fun) and all I need (except plywood and the lens mount which is coming in the mail) are some achromatic diopters. Are these any good?:

Would the +10 be strong enough? Quality is not an issue; I'm using a pretty horrible quality set up as it is and don't plan to use this for production (though I want the image to look presentable.)

I don't want to waste more than 30 bucks on my set up and these macros are the cheapest I've found. Will they work? Any feedback?

Hey Policar:

I have built my own 35mm adapter and I bought two Hoya's +10 macros. At the end I ended up using only one of the +10 macros. When you use any more than that....it starts to create some serious vignetting around the edges.

You could also combine +10 with a +1 or a +2...depends how far your 35mm lens is from the GG.

How much did you pay for the +10 macro and where did you get it?

I've started experimenting with beeswax, by the way. It's awesome so far. I'm still unsure about whether I'll make a static or moving adapter.

policar - I assume you know you can get a great DIY Guide at micro35 - or did you want to build one completely on your own?

I'm building one completely on my own just for fun. Where I go from there, I'm not sure.

So far, the adapter cost me about 2 dollars give or take (plus a 25 dollar lens I'd use anyway) so this is REAL low budget stuff just because I love to mess around with optics.
